Passenger Air Transport 

Hefei Xinqiao International Airport, located 32 kilometers west of the city,in Gaoliu Town,Feixi, is a modern airport. It has over 30 direct flights to various domestic destinations, including Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Haikou, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Qingdao, Dalian, Shenyang, Changchun, Harbin, Chengdu, Xi'an, Nanyang, Wenzhou, Anqing, Fuyang, and Huangshan, as well as periodic direct flights to Hong Kong. Airport Bus No.1,2,3 and 4 connect the Hefei Bus Station, the Hefei Bus Terminal,the South of Hefei Transfer Center, and the urban Terminal to the airport. For more information, call 0551-63777888.

Railway Transport 

The Huainan railway line (twin track) joins the Jinghu (Beijing-Shanghai) and the Longhai (Lanzhou-Lianyungang) trunk lines at Bengbu to the north, and connects to the Ningwu (Nanjing-Wuhu), and Xuanhang (Xuanzhou-Hangzhou) lines to the south at Wuhu. The Hefei-Jiujiang line, part of the second transport artery in East China linking Hangzhou, Wuhu, Hefei and Fuyang, is completed and in operation. The planned Ningxi (Nanjing-Xi'an) line is to run through Hefei, too. Once completed, this will be the second artery line running east-west, parallel with the Longhai trunk line. The New Hefei railway station, a national key construction project, is located in the north of the city, right at the north tip of Shengli Road. As a junction of three national railway trunk lines, it will become the largest passenger terminal in Anhui Province, making Hefei the centre of a railway hub that radiates in five directions.

Inner-city Road Transport 

The city bus transport has over 90 routes, offering great convenience. Route 1 to Route 47, plus East Route 201 and West Route 202, are all served by large buses, with a flat fare of RMB 1 yuan. Running on Routes101 to 247 are mini-buses. Every scenic spot in the city is reachable by public transport. The taxi standard flag drop rate is RMB 5 yuan. For Santana taxi, the fare is RMB 1.2 yuan per km after exceeding 3 km. For Xiali cab, it is RMB 1 yuan per km after the initial 3 km. During night hours from 11:00pm to 5:00am, the flag drop rate is RMB 6 yuan.
